We've collected, adapted, and developed specialized frameworks and conversation design best practices as part of our thought leadership and education efforts. These include frameworks and templates that help designers with ideation, concept development, personality design, sample dialogue writing, storyboarding, and inclusive design. These resources are helping practitioners around the world successfully design conversational experiences for their customers.

Ideation & User Journeys
Both of these activities are helpful as early ideation stimuli. Brainwriting helps in workshops where you want to build off each other's ideas while the journeys exercise can help us think about one concept and how it works across the user journey in different contexts and across different surfaces.
Evaluation guide
It’s essential to identify if something is a good fit for conversational AI and have a general sense of technical effort and feasibility. Our CAI evaluation guide helps are students to begin converging on the right concepts.
Personality Design
Before our students start writing sample dialogues we ask them to anchor their agent's personality in a persona that helps meet the goals of their product. Personality is inherited in any conversational exchange whether intentionally designed or not, and we believe an intentional goal-oriented personality design and expression will result in a more successful end-user experience.
Conversation Design Canvas
This framework can be used as either a design style guide or a conversation analysis framework. Our students use it when benchmarking existing CAI products to help them break down their analysis, and also to help them think through the important aspects of their capstone project.
